JORDAAN

Jordaan is a three-font modern serif typeface that I designed in my spare time. It is inspired by the architecture in and around the neighbourhood of De Jordaan, Amsterdam.

Inspired by De Jordaan

Each font draws inspiration from architectural structures, imperfections, organic contours, and ornate design elements observed while strolling through the neighbourhood. Subtle serifs have been incorporated into a contemporary, all-caps font, infusing it with a touch of heritage and historical resonance.

Putting them to use

When combined, they evoke a sense of Amsterdam that feels like home to me—a modern city steeped in history, captivating in both its unintentional and deliberate beauty. Direct and to the point.
